Happy Easter from Marina

Transumanza
My BIL took this picture just outside their house, only a few days ago. They live in Northern Italy, in a small country town 50 km (30 miles) from Milan, and I was particularly glad to find out that at least some of the traditional nomadic shepherds are still alive (and working) in the year 2001!
Their life is really hard, and I wonder how long they will last. Nomadic shepherds spend most of their life travelling around, on foot, in search of pastures for their sheep. They usually work in couples and are supported by working dogs and donkeys, which have the job of carrying knapsacks and... lambs!
(I'll send an Easter egg to whoever finds the English for transumanza... ;-)
Happy Easter, everybody :-)
