Light and Simple Moisturising Cream Recipe
This easy-to-make cream is perfect for beginners, and can be used as is for virtually any skin type. More specific skin care applications can be created by simply adding, at the end of the process, appropriate essential oil blends or extra nourishing/healing oils. It is also possible to increase the liquid amount and turn this cream into a body lotion.
Suggestion: When adding extra liquid to obtain a lotion, it is often easier to obtain the desired consistency if part of the water required by the formulation is added at the end of the process. Our suggestion is to measure out the water in two separate containers, dividing it into two equal parts. Add one part of water to the first (water) phase, and incorporate the remaining water at the end of the process.
Yield: 200 grams
Phase 1:
Phase 2:
Phase 3:
Procedure:
- In the container for Phase 1, measure out water and glycerine.
- In the container for Phase 2, weigh AS102 first, then add the rice bran oil.
- Heat both phases to 65-75¼C, or until AS102 is totally melted.
- Add oil phase to water phase while stirring with a fork. Stir briskly for a few minutes, until the emulsion turns opaque.
- Let the emulsion cool down (without stirring) until temperature drops under 45¼C.
- Add preservative and optional extra ingredients, mix thoroughly and pour into prepared jars.
