The Waldorf Soap by Ersilia Vitale

Ersilia Vitale's The Waldorf soap

A popular salad that I used to make to accompany bar-be-que meals or picnic lunches. Ingredients for the real recipe calls for chopped celery, coarsely chopped apples, coarsely chopped walnuts, mayonnaise, sugar, allspice and lemon juice. As far as the soap recipe goes, I have incorporated the following ingredients to mimic the real dish!

Use at bathtime with a crusty loofah, lol
Ersilia Vitale

Ingredients [*]

3558g total batch weight

  • olive oil 1211g (50.00%)
  • coconut oil 500g (20.64%)
  • palm oil 500g (20.64%)
  • walnut oil 211g (8.71%) - take out 21g and mix into beaten egg yolks
  • lye 6% = 334g
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder mixed into egg/walnut oil mixture
  • 353g cinnamon and apple tea infusion
  • 275g celery juice
  • 172g reverse osmosis water

Essential oils (total 44g): -

  • 2 parts lemongrass
  • 1.5 part black pepper
  • 1.5 part peppermint
  • 1 part orange five-fold
  • 1 part sweet orange

  1. Melt down palm and coconut oils and add to olive and walnut oils.
  2. Add lye to total liquid, wait to cool down.
  3. Mix lye liquid into oils and bring to light trace.
  4. Mix 1 tablespoon raw traced soap into egg/oil mixture, and mix.
  5. Add essential oils to main raw soap, then add egg mixture and stickblend, run a slotted ladle thru the soap mixture to ensure no globs of egg mixture is visible.
  6. Stick blend till all essential oils and egg mixture is mixed in. This gets it to a near-heavy trace.
  7. Pour/coax into moulds.
