Original soap recipes using different soapmaking methods

All recipes collected on the Soap Naturally Web are written by soapers for soapers and have been repeatedly tested both by each contributing soapmaker and by other members of the Soap Naturally mailing list. Because natural handmade soap is a "live" product, the final results may vary depending on climate and other conditions (temperatures, weather, oils/fats and additives used, and other variables).
It is always advisable to test new recipes with reasonably small batches, as well as to always run every soap recipe through a soapmaking calculator (aka SAP or lye calculator).

If you are unfamiliar with the terminology used in the following soap recipes and would like to obtain a better understanding of natural handmade soap, we recommend that you refer to a good soapmaking book.

[1] How big is a reasonably small batch of soap?
As a general guideline, a reasonably small batch of soap is no smaller than 500 grams (1 pound) of base oils/fats, and no bigger than 1000 grams (1 kilo, or 2 pounds).
