Merinda's Aniseed Myrtle & Lilli Pilli Fruit Soap
Merinda - merinda.air optusnet. com. au
The soap is part of my Australian Dream range and is called (or will be, possibly) Lilli Pilli. However, for the ISS6 it is just Aniseed Myrtle & Lilli Pilli fruit.
The soap is done in two layers. First layer consists of Lilli pilli fruit dried and pulverised and poured into half of the Macadamia oil mixture. The 2nd half is plain oil with aniseed myrtle.
Recipe
- 2000 grms Cold-pressed macadamia oil
- 1/2 cup dried, finely crushed Lilli pilli fruit
- 265 grms NaOH
Water to make up 800 mls this is an approximate 5% superfat.
Divide the oil into two x 1000 grm containers. Pour in the Lilli Pilli fruit into one container and bring to trace as usual. Pour into moulds.
For 2nd half make soap as usual and pour on top. There is a slight line where the two soaps meet. Macadamia oil soap is naturally pinky beige.
I use Lilli Pilli as a jam, de-pip (as for cherries) and candy. I still have some jam left of last years lot so maybe if I can get my act together I'll brandy some as I do with cherries.
