Chocolate Swirl Soap by Patty Shine

Patty Shine's Chocolate Swirl soap

I chose this batch because I wanted to make a bar with a good amount of cocoa butter, and I am a chocoholic!!
I had to make two batches to make enough; I only have one 3-4 lb mold. These were made the last week in July.
It doesn't have much of a scent, but it looks good enough to eat! It is a nice hard bar, I like it, but beware of the chocolate if using a cloth in the shower!

I would definitely do the swirling part differently but I am still proud of my first try!
Patty Shine, Plymouth MA

Ingredients [*]

  • Coconut Oil 11 oz
  • Cocoa Butter 6 oz
  • Olive Oil 7 oz
  • Safflower Oil 6 oz
  • Palm Oil 6 oz
  • Water 10 oz
  • Sodium Hydroxide 5 oz

At trace:

  • Macadamia Nut Oil 1 Tablespoon
  • 70% Cocoa Chocolate 2 oz

  1. Mixed main ingredients at approximately 95 degrees F.
  2. At trace poured in wooden log mold.
  3. Melted chocolate and mixed with macadamia nut oil, then swirled in soap. This was my first time ever trying something like this as you can probably tell!! J
  4. Wrapped in blanket and left for almost a full day. Sliced up into bars for the swap!
