Sarah's Patchouli Passion Soap
Sarah's Patchouli Passion Soap for SoapNatch's ISS5
Since I couldn't decide on just one, I tried to incorporate lots of my
"favorites" for this swap. Two of my favorite additives are silk fibers and
calendula petals, I scented with my own favorite personal scent blend of Patchouli, Ylang
Ylang and Pink Grapefruit that I call "Patchouli Passion", and tried to use
several of my favorite soaping oils/butters. I had fun coming up with this concoction and
hope it's well received. ;-)
LIQUIDS
18 oz. water
1.5 oz. sodium lactate
pinch of silk fibers
6.9 oz. sodium hydroxide
OILS
10 oz. olive oil
14 oz. palm kernel oil
5 oz. shea butter
6 oz. walnut oil
15 oz. lard
3/8 tsp. rosemary oleresin extract
ADDITIVES
2-3 T. of pulverized calendula petals
Follow usual soapmaking procedures and observe all safety precautions.
Dissolve silk fibers in lye water and add calendula petals at trace. I oven processed this
batch in my 18 bar divider mold and simply cut the bars in half when cool
