Diane's (aka Sassy's) Sultry, Sophisticated Suds

soap photo 5% Castor
20% Coconut
35% Olive
15% Palm
10% Rice Bran
5% Shea
10% Macadamia
.33% Sodium lactate in lye water

1 part Ylang, .5 patchouli, 2-3 parts 5X orange, 1 part rosewood EOs., calendula blossoms at trace, no coloring.

5% superfat, INS value 148, iodine 61. Takes a long time to harden because of the high olive, but I think it's worth the wait. Very conditioning due to the high oleic acid. Most of my soap recipes are a variation on this one, evolving gradually out of eight years of soaping. I sometimes change out the mac and RBO depending on the skin type for which I'm creating and occasionally sub cocoa butter for the shea. I also use a variety of different liquids like plain yogurt (try with mint and cucumber), goat's milk (honey and oats), buttermilk (citrus peels and essential oils) or heavy cream (with pureed fruits).

Enjoy!
