Want to learn how to make soap?
Shelley's Sensuous Sandalwood Vanilla Swirl
Shelley's Sandawood Vanilla Swirl
I wanted to make a bar of soap that I would never make to sell (costly :-), something
special for us, that contained all of my favorite oils in it. I also combined that with a
method I love to keep trying but never seem to succeed at (IMHO), but swirling always
facinates me... one day I'll do the perfect one, and then realize I've done something
silly like forget the fragrance in it! Anyway, here's the recipe....enjoy!
Coconut 0.184 500.00
Olive, pure 500.00
Macadamia Nut 300.00
Emu 250.00
Rice Bran 300.00
Castor 153.00 (originally was going to be 150 g :-) oops!)
Lye 276g
Water 560g (33% lye solution)
BB Sensuous Sandalwood fo approx 2 oz
Vanilla buttercream fo (approx 1/2 oz.... 1 glug :-)
Red iron oxide (wee bit) in the portion of soap that I mixed the vanilla buttercream fo in
(So I could see how the swirl was progressing before the fragrance darkened the soap).
2/3 cup of the olive was infused in plantain/horsetail mix (old infusion, strong). This is
the highest castor oil batch that I have ever done. I'm doing a steep discount because of
that. I'm hoping the oils I chose will make it an excellent shampoo bar as well as an all
purpose body/facial bar.
